Well i have been doing alot of thinking lately. Although  i love working at brookstone and all that i need something long term that can make me money!  so……………….

There are acouple options:

Option 1: EMT - take my course and pass my test and become certified

Option 2: Internet Cafe - Start up my own internet cafe business

Option 3:  Teach somewhere about something

Option 4:  Something else i have no clue haha

So there you have it. some options im considering. got any opinions or suggestions let me know!!

Ladies and Gentleman,

several movies have come out and done fairly well, some have failed , some have become super blockbuster hits that everyone should go see. What about the movies that are in theaters and DVD that done get publicity? i guess you could call them  “B” movies since they are not popular.

However there is one movie i URGE everyone to see. It is a great movie and also a great book. It’s called Fireproof. Personally one of the best movies i have seen in awhile.

What is this movie? well google search it lol your online reading this… i will give you some time to go watch the trailer and read the synapsis for it. ready? go!

My JS tutorial site Javascriptin.com is currently down. Ruby on Rails had an upgrade and alot of things have changed. so hopefully soon i will have to completely recreate the website to work for the new framework. Thank for being patient !

Merry Christmas to you all. I hope you all have a great Holiday Season! mine went ok for alittle bit than disaster struck yeah it sucks but you have to take what life gives you. Firstly my sister had to go in for emergency surgery. i dont really want to get into details with that since its a private matter. but yeah still sucks. and than later that night found out my girlfriend whom i love with all my heart has Crohn’s disease. So that sucks but you have to take what life gives you and keep moving on.

I do what i can do see up to date on my sisters status, which she is doing better now, so thats good. the surgery went well and she is home resting. And well i will always be there for my girlfriend no matter what. she is the one i love and will most likely be with for the rest of my life.

so from me and all of my family ( including my g/f family) we would like to wish you a merry christmas and happy holidays to you all!

Yes thats right dont think i know what im talking about? I have only been working at Brookstone for less than 2 months and im already getting promoted.

Holy shit dan! how did you do that?! very simple actually!

Dan’s Top 5 things to do:

1. Listen to what your co-workers say.
- when you first start a job there will always be at least 1 person working there willing to give you advice on things, or some tips and tricks dont be afraid to take all that and adapt it to your style. you CAN NOT take someone elses and expect it to work.

2. Watch what your co-workers do.
- Guess what they all have been there longer than you! who cares what you did before, every company is different which means new rules, new ways of doing things. Watch how they interact with people, how they talk to people. watching what people do is a great way of figuring how the company works.

3. ASK QUESTIONS!!
- the main problem with new employees is if they dont know something they dont want to figure it out! if you dont know something ask a co-worker or your boss….they wont mind telling you the answer or at least pointing you in the right direction so you can figure it out on your own.

4. Take initiative.
- don’t be afraid to do it! however you dont want to set the bar so high that you are expected to do it day in and day out. little key points here and there will more than catch managements eyes.

5. Just work and be on-time.
- The biggest problem employers have it people being on time. They understand weather, traffic, bus routes and what not effect everything. If your gonna be late even 5 minutes late CALL THEM! and just work hard and play to your strengths.

So There is my top 5 things to do to get ahead in life and most likely get promoted or at least move up in a company quickly. Some people might be like, ” Dan we aren’t as smart as you” or something like that. That is where you are all wrong. This has nothing to do with being intelligent or being able to pick up things quickly. It helps but not a must. Just go to work put that sweet smile on your face and enjoy what you do.
